And the name?. “Pa Doc” isn’t just branding. It’s the way we all used to refer to that neighborhood doctor. The fixer. The one we trust. He’s back. Only now, he’s in your pocket. 📱💙.

We already embraced mobile money. We skipped bank lines. It’s time we skip hospital queues. Healthcare should be as easy as a Top-Up. Accessible. Trusted. Digital. That’s Pa Doc.

The stats are real:. 🇸🇱 1 doctor per 26,000+ people.🏥 70% of people live in rural areas.👩🏾‍🍼 Maternal and child healthcare remain under-served. Digital platforms are booming in Nigeria, Kenya & Ghana. Why not Sierra Leone?.

Why now?. Because I realize I don’t just need code. I need guidance. If you’ve built a startup, If you understand scaling in Africa, If you believe in Sierra Leonean talent, I’m putting this out publicly because I need your experience.

Now here’s what I haven’t said until today…. I’ve been working on Pa Doc quietly for over 5 months. Just me and two devs building it from scratch. I’ve never pitched it. Never posted about it. Never even showed it to anyone outside the team. Until now.

Pa Doc doesn’t replace hospitals. It simplifies access. From Kenema to Kambia….If your child has a fever, your mom needs a refill, or your back hurts —.You just open the app and search. No guessing. No stress.

We added something new too….🎥 A TikTok-style video feed for doctors. So they can:.– Educate the public.– Bust health myths.– Build their brand. Doctors become more than names, they become visible, trusted, local experts.

So I started building Pa Doc. An app that brings modern healthcare access to Sierra Leone. ✅ Search for doctors by specialty.✅ View verified credentials.✅ Book appointments.✅ Get digital prescriptions.✅ Carry your records on your phone.

❌ No centralized platform to find doctors.❌ No national digital health identity.❌ No access to doctors’ specialties, availability, or reviews.❌ Referrals depend on personal connections.❌ Health info spreads by word of mouth. This isn’t just inconvenient—it’s dangerous.

Sierra Leone has 1,000+ registered doctors — many are specialists. But most people only know “Pa Doc down the road.” Why? Because of 3 real problems that we’ve ignored for too long 👇🏾.

That experience opened my eyes. Not to a lack of doctors. But a disconnection between doctors and the people who need them. Doctors are invisible. Patients are in the dark. Even in 2025.

We asked around. Called hospitals. People gave us names — but no phone numbers. Phone numbers — but they didn’t go through. It felt like guesswork. Meanwhile, my father was the one suffering.

We weren’t looking for “any doctor.”.We needed a specialist — someone who understands the spine. But in Sierra Leone, you might as well look for a ghost. They exist, but finding one? That’s a different story.

My dad is the toughest man I know. Old-school. Never complained. Never stayed home from work. But one morning I saw something I’d never seen before: He couldn’t get up. The pain in his lower back was that bad. We needed help. Fast.

Why I’m Building Pa Doc 🇸🇱 — A Startup Born from Back Pain, Not Code. Not every innovation starts in Silicon Valley. Mine began in a house in Freetown with my dad crying out in pain. A thread 🧵.#SaloneX #StartupTech
