Sierra Leone has 1,000+ registered doctors — many are specialists. But most people only know “Pa Doc down the road.” Why? Because of 3 real problems that we’ve ignored for too long 👇🏾.

That experience opened my eyes. Not to a lack of doctors. But a disconnection between doctors and the people who need them. Doctors are invisible. Patients are in the dark. Even in 2025.

We asked around. Called hospitals. People gave us names — but no phone numbers. Phone numbers — but they didn’t go through. It felt like guesswork. Meanwhile, my father was the one suffering.

We weren’t looking for “any doctor.”.We needed a specialist — someone who understands the spine. But in Sierra Leone, you might as well look for a ghost. They exist, but finding one? That’s a different story.

My dad is the toughest man I know. Old-school. Never complained. Never stayed home from work. But one morning I saw something I’d never seen before: He couldn’t get up. The pain in his lower back was that bad. We needed help. Fast.
