Evgeni Malkin is a top-20 player in NHL history, and I’m not hearing otherwise. Aside from McDavid, he’s the only players who’s had “shades of Mario”. When prime Malkin was on the top of his game, he was the best player in the world. Oh, and he was on the top of his game a lot 😉.

You have Makar/Weegar/Morrisey that brings you offence, and you need to stabilize that with some solid two-way play in Toews, Theodore, Parayko. And I will not entertain any comments suggesting he should be in over Weegar.

Geno Malkin. Dude has played in Crosby’s shadow his entire career. He was left off several lists (including the NHL’s top-100). 113 pts in 82 reg. szn games & 36 pts in 24 playoff games back in ‘09. While Crosby was out for 3 seasons, Malkin stepped up. He stepped up every time.

With all the media hype about big names like Jason Robertson possibly moving and teams like Columbus and Anaheim making huge splashes, this has turned into one of the most boring, disappointing off-seasons ever — the last NHL trade was Joshua to Toronto on July 13.
