Cody is a 2 year old labradoodle, was found on the side of a road with a broken leg. Was taken for immediate care, the leg has been in cast for 2+ weeks. Waiting for confirmation if he will join us Thursday

Annnnnd Archie has been adopted. By the vet who did his amputation! . Go Archie Go!. New foster, Cody incoming (maybe Thursday).

And now…. ARCHIE IS HOME!!!!!! And already made himself very, very comfy

Pre and post surgery Archie. All his drains and lives are out, he should come home this evening!

Archie is doing so good! Infection/abscesses in the removed leg and remaining leg, so he gets to stay at the vet longer. He’s apparently grumpy today, but he’s eating well!

@dog_rates take a look at Archie, our newest rescue, he’ll become a tripawed in the morning after narrowly escaping euthanasia. Fell from a moving truck, dumped at a shelter, no pain meds, he chewed off his own paw trying to get relief! Now he gets to find his forever home.

Archie has made it to our vet, and has finally gotten some pain relief. Amputation in the morning for this sweet boy! . Huge thanks to the team at @ARF_Rescue_IL for getting him out of his shelter!

Turns out he hasn’t been on any pain meds since it happened so he is now not eating much so he’s dropped in weight as well! And because of what he’s done to his paw with the chewing, hell likely be on antibiotics for a week or two after the surgery! 4/4.

I’ll spare you some of the photos but he has bitten off a lot of the paw on that leg so thankfully we found someone to do the surgery immediately! .Oh and you will definitely need to put some weight on him. They believe he’s about 30 pounds right now. 3/4.

We find out tomorrow morning if he will be staying at the vet place overnight or if he’ll need to be in a home on Monday night and brought to vet Tuesday morning. It’s a dire situation at this point. 2/4.

Archie update! . Hi!! Great news!! We have someone who is going to do the amputation on Tuesday morning! I’ll have more information on that part tomorrow. But, I am headed down to pick him up tomorrow afternoon!! .1/4.

If we can’t make this happen now, euthanasia is his best option.

To be comfortable caring for him. So, asking the collective hive mind:. A good vet in Southern Illinois who can either provide xray service or emergent amputation service for Archie ASA. Archie’s pain and anxiety are manifesting in some undesirable interactions.
