Ripgrep is slow. Nowgrep is fast, because I bypass the Windows slop and go straight to NTFS. Here's Ripgrep vs. Nowgrep searching through 300k files on a drive with 2M+. Nowgrep is written from scratch in C99. No borrow checker.

First Nowgrep release will be a closed beta where I will hand out a limited number of keys. I need to do a lot of testing, bug fixing and implement more UX features before I can confidently do a full release. If you're interested in being part of the closed beta, then please

Because I bypass most of Windows, I don't get stuck in slow general-purpose system caching. So I wrote my own caching tailored to Nowgrep without degrading the overall speed and making repeat or similar searches much faster and more stable.

I think I've written the world's fastest Blender exporter. It exports full levels in 9 milliseconds. Check out this video where I show live editing of levels from blender, and it updates instantly in the game. For some context: Okay, since the beginning of development on this

I want to make Nowgrep. But I need to eat, so I need to know whether or not I can make money of it. So I'm wondering: Would you pay $19 for a polished and snappy Nowgrep with good UX, that beats any other search program so far? If no: Why, and would you pay a lower sum? I

Existing search tools on Windows suck. Even with an SSD, it’s painfully slow. So I built a prototype of Nowgrep. It bypasses most of the slow Windows nonsense, and just parses the raw NTFS. On an SSD, this ends up faster than ripgrep, even on a cached run (Nowgrep bypasses
