Some of the hardest stories I have ever written have been my own. Six months ago today, I was leaving the hospital after receiving a permanent & life-changing surgery. On September 21, 2022, I ended over 25 years of pain & suffering by having my uterus & fallopian tubes removed.

NEW: Results from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) suggest that Dark Energy, a force that is pushing the Universe apart, may be weakening. That MIGHT mean that the Universe will end in a big "crunch" after all. (by @Chandelis ) https://t.co/AkWF8Zv463

Recently @Chandelis asked me about the role of Smoot-Hawley on the Great Depression. It wasn't the cause, of course, but it worsened the economy. The economic effect was smaller for the US & larger for other countries. https://t.co/1P2HxwLrhZ

Several factors led to the Great Depression, one of the most severe economic crises in U.S. history. NPR interviewed economists who discussed the causes of the Great Depression.

I come from a family of firsts and I am grateful for the dedication of my parents to Florence, Alabama citizens. I am in awe of their resilience and loving spirit despite everything they went through. Proud of you both and ❤️ you forever. #BlackHistoryMonth

Happy Birthday and Happy Black History Month to my dad, Joe Duster! He became Florence, Alabama's first Black firefighter on September 21, 1981. And my dad broke more ceilings: He was also the city’s first Black lieutenant fire inspector and first Black fire truck engineer. ❤️

The Geminids will peak this weekend. But keep in mind it is competing with the brightness of the moon that will be full this weekend. More of my reporting below:

The Geminids are one of the best and most visible annual meteor showers, when at least 120 meteors can usually be seen per hour. But 2024 will be different, thanks to the year's final full moon.

The International Space Station shifted its orbit Tuesday to avoid a piece of debris. The debris was "small," the U.S. Space Forces-Space told me. More of my reporting below: https://t.co/dK4aIbDwJM

There are at least 19,000 pieces of space debris in Earth's orbit, not including active satellites, that the U.S is monitoring.

Reported on air and online about C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, a comet that will appear starting this weekend. If you don’t get a chance to see the comet, you won’t be able to see it again unless you’re immortal because it won’t be back for 80,000 YEARS. Read my reporting below:
