βοΈ Ahead of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, The Duchess of Edinburgh sat down with James βJimβ Wren, a 105-year-old Royal Marines veteran, at his care home in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Mr Wren survived the sinking of HMS Repulse in 1941 and was later a Prisoner of War for three and

Whilst researching the PWE, I discovered that its Director (R Bruce Lockhart) wrote a book in 1950 on the role of the #RoyalMarines during the Second World War. Itβs a very enjoyable read; the versatility, cheerfulness, and close nature of the Corps really shines through. π₯

Great weekend in Normandy with work. Itβs been a while since Iβve led a battle field tour, but it was a pleasure to take the group around Port-en-Bessin, and follow the footsteps of 47 (RM) Cdo on 7-8 June 1944 and their battle for the town. An incredible feat of arms. π₯

Good see Donald McLachlan (who ran NID 17Z - the Naval Intelligence propaganda sub-section) get a mention. I included his old team name into the below logo as a nod to our past. π₯ (Black, white, and grey colours = #IYKYK π»).
PWE: The Kurzwellensender Atlantik Sefton Delmer, Ian Fleming... Rita Doris and the art of misinformation (Latimer House ops in the mix here too it seems). Fascinating stuff. @WeHaveWaysPod

@Tom_Courtney_7 I like Blackett. But England's A is directly copied from Northampton. Plus, Blackett is very happy at Bath (something a mate told me). In an ideal world: Steve: DOR/Lineout Joe: Forwards Harrison: Scrum Byron: D Vesty: A Wiggles: Kicking Strategy I'd be over the moon with that.

It was a real privilege to finally meet Robert and Paul Danny, the Grandsons of Captain John Patrick Danny, on the 100th anniversary of their Grandfather founding The Old Contemptibles' Association at the Red House in Clapton. A simple but poignant commemoration today.

Very honoured to be speaking on #InformationOperations at the @RoyalNavy Information Warfare Symposium 2025. #IW #infowars. Geopolitically it doesnβt get more topical than now!
