If you ever feel lonely, just remember that, somewhere out there in the ocean, there are millions of giant squids (Architeuthis dux). ✨🦑

Diamondback Squids (Thysanoteuthis rhombus) are one of the few cephalopod species that are monogamous instead of polyandrous. They pair up as juveniles and stay together until their deaths less than a year later. They also lay their eggs in giant pink slinkies.

The Glass Octopus (Vitreledonella richardi) is a deep sea octopus species that is almost completely transparent and colourless. The only parts of its body that are opaque are its eye, digestive tract and its chromatophores. 🐙📷Schmidt Ocean @SchmidtOcean

I mean, they do change colour with their emotions and to communicate, but I have no idea what this cuttlefish is thinking.

Bald is beautiful, just ask the Northern Bald Ibis! Scientists think its featherless face, neck, & throat help regulate this bird’s body temperature. The bare skin may assist in releasing some of the heat that its dark plumage is prone to absorbing.
