22 boys in District 3 class AAA have run faster than the state qualifying time of 4:24. Unless 2 kids scratch, 2 with state qualifying times won’t even get to run in the district meet. It’s time to expand the field in the 800-1600-3200 from 20 to at least 24.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me to have XC events where you start in waves of 10-12 to up to 25 with 1 min interval between waves. Run 10 waves per race. Spread out races to allow for those who have raced to leave while new racers arrive. This can be done safely and effectively

IF there is no way to have traditional XC races, I will find enough volunteers to record 5k time trials, with runners starting at certain intervals to make timing calculations manageable. Similar to Tour de France time trials where cyclists start 1 min apart.

Blanket cancellation of fall sports seems short sighted to me. Golf? Tennis? XC? Golf is good. Tennis w/o doubles should be good. XC w/staggered starts or time trial racing should be good (and better than nothing). Hope
