1/2 Congrats to our PhD student @ervin_ascic for winning the best poster award in “Improving Immunity” at the 22nd #CIMT Annual Meeting, Europe's Cancer Immunotherapy Meeting, held this year in Mainz, Germany. His work was regarded as an interesting, state-of-the-art technology.

3/4 The twist is that while being distinct DC subtype, RORγt+ DCs have features of conventional DCs including migration to lymph nodes and ability to activate naïve CD4+ T cells. Hence this DC subtype shows potential for being targeted both in autoimmunity & cancer immunotherapy.

2/4 RORγt+ dendritic cells (DCs) are antigen-presenting cells with functions described in T cell tolerance. Narasimhan et al. found that RORγt+ DCs are conserved between mouse and human, presenting functional flexibility.

2/3 Conventional therapies with tumor-infiltrating T cells (TILs) rely on unspecific expansion of T cells resected from tumor tissue. Camille’s project will use reprogramming of patients’ tumor cells into dendritic cells to selectively expand tumor-reactive T cells.
