So I think I am seeing an allopathic effect. One paddock is the last one they grazed so the rye did not get so far ahead. The other had a lot of rye growth before we got it killed. Sunnhemp looks good but Sudan is shorter and fewer plants. Will see how production is impacted.

One last set of summer annual pics for today. This Sudangrass, sunnhemp mix was planted June 16th. 2 weeks ago. We were grazing rye, pulled off May 30, it rained and two weeks later we were able to spray and plant. Look at the two pics. Do you see a difference? ⁦@UNLBeef

Messed up a bit with this field. Was in corn the year before and didn’t spray for weeds this spring. So a lot of weeds. Sorghum Sudan was planted May 16th. It is 4 ft tall. We will see what the cattle eat, hopefully they help with the weed pressure.

This BMR prussic acid free sorghum Sudan was planted June 10th. 20 days later and looking great, some weed pressure but it is already almost 2 ft tall! ⁦@UNLBeef⁩ ⁦@NebENREEC

We just planted some at ENREEC and will be grazing it in starting late June. We will have a field day on July 24th if people want to come see it for themselves. We are trying out both prussic acid free BMR and prussic acid free non BMR sorghum-Sudan . @NebENREEC.

I love seeing cattle on green grass. Hope we can keep grazing. We are so dry our rye has not grown much in the past two weeks. We pulled off half the stockers yesterday. Hope the rye will keep up with the rest. (This was a fresh paddock, not been grazed this season). @UNLBeef
