5/5 mere mental assent of Christ’s divinity or mission is not enough. The devils believe, and tremble (James 2:19).

4/5 Through the Eucharist. We consume the body of Christ, that we might be in Him, and He in us (John 6:56). Only the Catholic Church is unified with Christ in this way. All others take it symbolically or without authority.

3/5 Through baptism. In baptism we join His body, the Church. The Catholic Church recognizes most Protestant baptisms, but has recently stopped recognizing LDS baptism.

2/5 Through keeping His commandments. In doing so, we are filled with the love of God. Our bodies become His body, as we do the actions He would do. In this, the LDS excel Protestants and many Catholics.

People upset by LDS Christian superiority cite some doctrine that the LDS get wrong. They’ve reduced Christianity to mere mental assent, as if the Church were another form of civic nationalism. Christ did not merely teach. He gave Himself to us. We receive Him in three ways. 1/5.
