Delighted to share a session with Anne Martin at 'Interrogating the Napier Commission' at Glasgow Uni. Hopefully it gave an alternative approach and understanding to legacies of Clearance. Back home for an archive pop up at the Dunvegan Show. 🐑

The story of Annie Baillie Gordon is facinating, had fun researching and chatting about this. She was reported to have given John MacPherson a sword and was visiting the Crofters in Glendale in Nov 1884. So much more to tell on this swindler! Have a listen

1/2 I'll be having a bleather this weekend at the @galgael about archives, resistance, and reclamation. From uprisings to suppression, exploring how archives capture tensions between land, power, and belonging. Skye is a commodity after all eh?

1/3“To remain in these places” is an important phrase, for it is what the struggle was about. Without security of tenure, the exodus would have continued... today it's a battle against AirBnB and over tourism.
