On Thursday @PostmanCarson and I spoke passionately against the closure or transfer of the Couper Institute and for the innovations in the Glasgow Labour budget that would make it easier to book venues We will always look at how venues can be better used rather than close them

In 2026, Glasgow can choose a new direction — starting with electing @AnasSarwar as MSP for Glasgow Cathcart & Pollok. Glasgow deserves the respect and investment from the Scottish Government — and that can happen in May 2026. 🌹

UK Government Minister @kirstyjmcneill met families at the @JeelyPieceClub in Castlemilk to hear their challenges. The UK Gov Child Poverty Strategy, announced today, aims to raise wages, cut energy costs, remove the two-child limit, and tackle unfair baby formula marketing.

Reminder: the SNP always had the power to eliminate the 2-child cap in Scotland, and did nothing for 8 years. Labour has abolished it within 18 months of coming into government.

Nicola Sturgeon says she won’t get rid of the 2-child cap in Scotland because she doesn’t have the money. And she doesn’t want to raise taxes to pay for it. (FMQs, 13th December 2018)

I'm very sad to hear of the passing of John Maxton, MP for Glasgow Cathcart from 1979 to 2001. One of the few gains for Labour in the 1979 election, John served as a brilliant constituency MP for more than twenty years.

This was a real joy today. Thoughtful and thought-provoking questions from an audience of P6s and P7s who want the best for their area and have great ideas on how to achieve it.

P.7/6 and P.6 had an interesting afternoon meeting with their local Glasgow City Councillors. Many thanks to Catherine Vallis and Johnny Carson @PostmanCarson for taking the time to help us understand how local democracy works in action and to answer our many questions.

Out in Jordanhill with a brilliant team. People on the doors said they were fed up with SNP decline and want change. 2026 is a choice between more SNP decline or a new direction with @ScottishLabour. Glasgow Anniesland deserves better. It needs an active MSP who will deliver.

Glasgow Labour condemns the horrific terror attack in Manchester. This was not only an attack on a synagogue, but on the values we all share; safety, dignity and freedom of belief. We stand with Jewish communities and against all forms of hatred and bigotry.

The 2000 jobs that come with the £10bn of investment in shipbuilding in Glasgow by the UK Labour Government is a massive opportunity that I want the council to grab with both hands. I spoke to @ThatsTVGlasgow about what this investment will bring to residents and communities.

"It's really important we bring communities along with us" @CateVallis wants Glasgow's communities to be boosted by the recent 10 billion pound shipbuilding deal which will be carried out in Govan.
