So yes, Bangalore is an infrastructural nightmare where simply living a normal life is an extreme sport, unless you never have to leave your Whitefield/HSR/Indiranagar bubble. It's a shithole. And the linguistic jingoism on top of it, makes it worse.

4. Book an Ola/Uber - Rs. 500 for auto, Rs. 800 for cab. Local auto drivers are literal goons, have been grabbed by my collar AFTER speaking in Kannada because I didn't want to pay Rs. 500 when we decided on Rs. 350 and he included a rain charge.

3. BMTC + Metro - Most convenient, but will still take between 1.5-2 hours for Indiranagar. Easy 3 hours for Whitefield. Towards the last few months in Bangalore, the metro station was so crowded, you could barely stand. Had to wait for at least 2 trains, 20 mins.

2. Take the BMTC buses - Need to change at least twice for Indiranagar, maybe thrice for Whitefield. Estimate 2.5 hours to Indiranagar, 3.5 to Whitefield. Insanely crowded, cannot stand, traffic is still an issue, unlike Ahmedabad with dedicated BRTS lanes.

I used to live near Jalahalli and most of my friends lived in Indiranagar or beyond that, towards Whitefield. Indiranagar - 21 km.Whitefield - 35 km. If I ever wanted to go to Indiranagar, these were my options:. 1. Drive a scooter - About 2 hours to Indiranagar, 3 to Whitefield.
