We applaud the leadership of @CAgovernor Newsom @California_HCD Director @GVelasquez72 deepening investment in permanently affordable housing. Proud to partner with @CADAapts, @TheCityofSac, @CAbcsh, and @CalifDGS to transform a former State building into The Monarch.
We're turning underutilized state-owned land into climate-smart and affordable homes. 369 of them to be exact. This is just a part of planning, funding, and construction of 5,500 new homes on excess sites that will house tens of thousands over the lifetime of these communities 🙌

At last week’s hearing, Senator Vance said familiar mistruths about homelessness - that substance abuse is root cause & that homeless people should be required to address addiction before receiving housing assistance. I was very glad to respond for the record.

We have to do so much better at the State and local level. Mobilehome park residents are vulnerable to exploitation because its not easy or in many cases possible, to move their homes.Seniors are especially at risk at risk. Owners must keep parks safe!
In a five-month investigation, CalMatters’ @manuelatobiasm uncovered questionable state oversight of mobile home parks across California. Focusing on a park on the outskirts of Stockton, she met residents who had to wade through pools of putrid brown liquid for months.
