The most delightful book I’ve ever held in my hands. Delightful for the artwork, the stories, and the opportunity to whimsically reflect on the places where we collect and consider the bits and pieces--and the great ideas--of the human experience. Bravo @BobEckstein and @PAPress

Just arrived--and Wow! From my friend and MU colleague Jennifer Black @blackjen1 (and UPenn Press), a brilliant and generously illustrated analysis of 19th century advertising and the quest to develop trust and legitimacy among middle class consumers. #bizhist #twitterstorians

When reading my novel, Gideon's Revolution, at a book festival and in the audience I spy Bob Eckstein—cartoonist, illustrator, humorist, known for his work in The New Yorker, The NYTimes, & many others—I know magic's gonna happen. Thanks, Bob! @MisericordiaU @CornellPress

What is The Page 69 Test? It's the idea that a random page (page 69) might reveal something essential about a book. Does it work for Gideon's Revolution? Check it out: @CornellPress @MisericordiaU @histnovsoc #RevWar #HistoricalFiction.

8 years ago I began writing a novel based on the true secret mission to capture Benedict Arnold. Today the UPS truck stopped by, and with my wife and 2 boys looking on, I lifted these out of the box. 8 years later—it’s a really good day. @CornellPress #RevWar #HistoricalFiction

Many references to Benedict Arnold in today's press. He similarly informed the imagination in 1861, as seen below. Coming soon: "Gideon's Revolution," a historical novel on the true plot to capture Benedict Arnold. From Cornell Univ. Press. @CornellPress #BenedictArnold #Treason

Two months to release of my novel “Gideon’s Revolution,” which Tom Mallon calls a “remarkable piece of historical fiction.” Check out my new website about Benedict Arnold, treason, and spies during the American Revolution (and a great deal on pre-orders!).

Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant, 1st ed., 1885. Printed as in his hand, the dedication reads: “These volumes are dedicated to the American soldier and sailor.” Inside is a four-leaf clover, likely placed in the late 19th century. Imagine: who put it there, and why. #MemorialDay

Remembering that this week marks 43 years since the eruption of Mount St. Helens. We visited the mountain in 2019 and took this photo of the crater. One of my favorites. #MountStHelens

Snowy day spent reading A Moveable Feast. Hemingway meets Joyce on Boulevard St Germain and “we went to the Deux Magots and ordered dry sherry." I happily recall having escargot at Deux Magots and thus spend the grey day thinking about Paris. #Hemingway #JamesJoyce #DeuxMagots

Late last night I downloaded one of my favorite albums from my college days. Woke the kids up this morning to "Inside of Me" and lectured on the virtues of horns in rock 'n roll. Playing it all day. Can't wait to see @StevieVanZandt with Bruce and E Street in a few weeks!
