We took a break to visit El Yunque National Rainforest. It was certainly a good source of inspiration. It's also impressive how the forest has recovered from the devastating Hurricane Maria.

We're back in Puerto Rico! Over the past few months, we've processed some of the sediment samples. This time, we're focusing on lab work and taking a closer look at materials from one of the most promising excavation units.🌿🔬

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed advisory board member, Erhan Bıçakçı. He was a distinguished member of the Department of Prehistory at Istanbul University, where he conducted significant research in the field of Anatolian Neolithic.

While there is still a lot of work to be done regarding the reference collection, I suggested through ancient starch grain analysis the possible use of geophytes from these families at some houses from Neolithic Çatalhöyük. Check out for more 👇 https://t.co/AwppRkeeex

I spotted these beautiful specimens from the Iridaceae (Crocus) and Araceae (Biarum) families during our visit to Sefertepe for the @WNC2024. In fact, there are numerous ethnobotanical studies mentioning the traditional use of these plants in different parts of Türkiye today.
