Today we had a super first session with the Year 3's at Twyford St Mary's. Our theme this half term is connections and today we connected to each other and our wonderful site at Hunter's Park. Jo and myself are very excited about the learning journey you will all take us on.

It was a bit of a wet session today however we made the most of it and had lots of fun immersing ourselves in lots of wet play. We continued on with our learning about sustainability and read "Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish".

We had a super session this morning with Dragonflies Holiday Club out in the woods at Zionshill copse in Knightwood. Today our focus was on bird nests and we heard the folk tale "Magpie's nest". After hearing the story we made some nests of our own.

Our session today focused on personal growth and having a growth mindset. We continued our work on our Forest School site and cut the coppiced hazel to make a fence around our newly planted wild flowers. Our session ended with our spring song with Jo on her ukulele.

Today we continued thinking about spring and why animals raise their young at this time of the year. We thought about the term "mother nature" and how mothers/mums play such an important part in how their little ones grow and thrive. This of course led us onto Mother's Day crafts

Tonight wehad discussions about why so much growth takes place in the spring and then we planted out snowdrops, primroses and wildflower seeds. During our child initiated learning time the children created models out of clay, rebuilt their treehouse and added a pully system.
