@MarcBekoff @BharcsEducation Dogs are pack animals and form a pack of 2-6 dogs at a place. Rest or extra dogs disperse upon sexual maturity. So the population remains constant at place. Then why need CNVR ? That rather meddles with natural selection, survival of the fittest theory, natural immunity etc.

Hey SC, stop calling the ‘ancient pariah’ as ownerless (lawaris). So-called ‘pariah’ is an ancient wild dog & naturally occurs near human settlements in India as house crows, house sparrows & black kites. They belong to nature first, then to humans. #SaveTheIndianPariahDog

‘Pariah’ is a type of wild dog but in human domain. So, yes they can be shy, like a wild canid, on the floor.

Not surprised as India was a refuge of dogs, tigers, cheetahs, golden jackals etc from the last ice age.

These are not a domesticated canid what we call ‘pariah’ India. That doesn’t mean they’re wild (jungle famed wild) They are still natural, free living, commensal, symbiotic, social, coexisting- all natural phenomenon- umm.. they’re in this proto domestication state !

Dogs of Bhutan/Himalayas are basically a domesticated canid (Bhotiya kukur/Gaddi kutta/Tibetan mastiff). Dogs of rest of India (except metros) are an ancient pariah dog which clubbed into an undomesticated canid/wildlife. Plz stop comparing ‘ancient pariah’ with other strays

So-called ‘pariah’ is an ancient wild dog, thus have right to hunt ! The ‘Indian pariah dogs’ are not ‘stray’, but natural being, naturally found near human settlements in India like house crows/sparrows or urban langurs, not domesticated but commensal cum symbiotic to humans.
I hope this is protected from predators like stray dogs

There’re many fake ‘wild dogs’ on the planet. Like these ‘Dholes- the Asiatic Wild dogs’ & from Africa- the ‘African Wild dogs.’ But none are dogs or even close to dogs (grey wolves r closest to dogs). Here are some wild dogs :- 1-Desi (pariah ecotype) 2-Dingo (wild ecotype)

I understand that people are passionate about this, but in no developed and clean global city unvaccinated stray dogs roam public spots surviving brutal conditions at mercy of human scraps. They need to be sheltered and sterilised and off streets. Dog lovers can help in this.

‘Ancient pariah’ dogs are beyond ‘community dogs’ . The Indian pariah dogs are an undomesticated canid, commensal cum symbiotic to humans & naturally found near human settlements in India like house crows or urban langurs. They are wildlife. Not village dogs. Not stray.
