Since Timo Meier is an RFA, there exists a strategy of trade for prospects/1st rd pick, play out 2023 with him, trade up in the draft to a more desperate team come summer for a greater return & recoup prospects. It has its flaws but doable. $10 mil is a lot of commitment.
