The Canaday Center will be closed on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24, 2023 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will resume normal hours on Monday, November 27.

Starting on November 16, 2023, an exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the opening of the William S. Carlson library will be available to view in the Canaday Center, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., through January 20, 2024.

Club Carlson is back! Every Rocket is invited to Carlson Library on 9/13 to kick the year off with games, fun, and food as we transform the first two floors of the library into Club Carlson. The Canaday Center will be there with treasures from our vault. Hope to see you there!

The Canaday Center’s exhibition celebrating UToledo’s 150th birthday, Vision, Faith, and Hard Work will close on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Until then, the exhibit is available for viewing Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 4:30 on the 5th floor of Carlson Library.

The Dolphin was an annual published by George Macy and distributed by the Limited Edition Club about the making of books. The Canaday Center has all three parts of number four as part of its rare books collection on the history of books and printing. #getcaughtreading

Happy Groundhog Day! Did you know that the Toledo Zoo’s 1st animal was a groundhog? In 1900, a farmer gave what he called a “young bear” to the superintendent of parks, who took it to Walbridge Park and built a cage for it. Thus began the Toledo Zoo. #toledozoo #GroundhogDay2023

HOLIDAY BREAK 2022 CLOSURE The Ward M. Canaday Center will close in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. The closure runs from December 23, 2022 through January 2, 2023. The Center will resume its open hours at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
