At the TUC annual congress this week, the FBU delegation supported a motion rejecting the common sense Supreme Court judgment that people are defined by biological sex for the purposes of law. This is a frienge view. Who is the delegation speaking for? Who did they consult?

Will the FBU leadership be commenting on this shocking case of a retired firefighter and FBU official having his house raided and being subjected to a gagging order after posting critical messages of his former fire service bosses on Facebook?

A general secretary for hire. A careerist bureaucrat hopping from one union to another - even when he has zero experience in the industry. Wrack has become the very thing he once loathed. Thank God the FBU is shot of him.

We ask again: Why was this motion, which makes a radical demand that has never been consulted on within the union and sits well outside of mainstream opinion, not withdrawn by the executive council? A handful of unrepresentative officials have taken us down a rabbit hole.

Incredibly, this resolution was not withdrawn by the Scottish region of the FBU and was carried at the STUC LGBT+ workers' conference last month. It is now a matter of record that the FBU supports 'equality for polyamory'. Crackpot politics have no place in our union.

Just a reminder that a decision was taken to hand FBU money and resources to the MP lover of Matt Wrack while he was leader of the union. Totally and utterly crooked - and a betrayal of everything the man once stood for. Thank God we are shot of him. ⬇️

@CampaignFBU At what point will the FBU open an investigation into the past General Secretary’s actions, not only as the General Secretary but prior to his election when many good brothers and sister’s apparently suffered at he’s hands?

Which FBU employee was sent to work for a year inside the office of Mary Foy MP? Who paid his/her wages during that time? Did executive council members approve the decision? Did they even know about it? Did they know that the-then general secretary was in a relationship with Foy?

Big story in today’s Mail on Sunday. While Matt Wrack was in charge of the FBU, members’ money was spent on a donation to a Labour MP with whom he was in an undeclared relationship. An FBU staffer was also sent to work in the same MP’s office.

The resolution passed. It is now the official policy of the FBU that the supreme court was wrong to say 'women' and 'men' are defined by biological sex for the purposes of law and that supporters of the ruling are basically Nazis & fascists. What on Earth were delegates thinking?

@CampaignFBU This is utterly ridiculous @fbunational as well as insulting to all the leftwing women who’ve campaigned so thoughtfully on this issue while being subject to hatred and slurs like this.

Within the past 48 hours, the annual conference of my trade union, the Fire Brigades Union, has voted in favour of statements that brand Reform UK and gender-critical activists as 'far right'. The utter debasement of the term 'far right' demeans our politics. It needs to stop.
