Loved watching the #SportClimbing quals today, first time I'm actually excited about the #Olympics ! Micka Mawem's perf on M2&M3 was amazing, but not liking the look of Bassa Mawem's bicep injury 😨. Can't wait for the women's quals tomorrow #Tokyo2020

Our research shows that SHAPE students go onto valued, well-paid employment with the same success as STEM graduates. These graduates are vital for the UK economy – 8/10 of the fastest growing sectors employ more graduates from SHAPE than other disciplines.

Question: How can we improve access to scientific information and knowledge to people who speak very little English, or none at all? Answer: A hybrid system of education where knowledge is taught both in English and indigenous African languages Samples of Mathematics in Hausa

In 2021, we're still at "lges=European lges", everything else is "community" and somehow less than. What a load of BS. YP's multilingualism is a strength for uni studies, and should be valued, not discounted.

OUT NOW UK Poverty 2020/21. Our leading independent report reveals how the impact of a decade of deprivation coupled with #COVID19 and #lockdown has hit people trapped in poverty the hardest. Government policies must keep people afloat, not pull them under https://t.co/sMNr3zdycx

Ministers and Chartwells are responsible for the food box scandal but don’t stop there. Every Daily Mail “scroungers” front page. Every Tory MP who said poor parents “can’t budget.” Every Telegraph columnist who cheered cuts. You took us to this place where kids are fed scraps.

"Scholarly writing and argument as dialogue": definitely yes. Coupled with knowledge cultivation over production (as explained by @RobbieShilliam ). Because research is NEVER a solitary "contribution to knowledge" but a constant tilling and learning in dialogue

Very important thread for academics. People are not data. "People don't owe us their stories". If only you gain from a project and not your participants, all you're doing is exploiting people's trauma for a career boost...

I was recently interviewed about something painful in my life. I learned more about how not to be an interviewer than anything I've read/practiced. This is a devastating time for so many, and people don't owe us their stories. Some insights on how to be respectful & empowering:
