I've read countless articles and books about how to technologically solve climate change on a global scale, but little that grapples with how to build the mass "political will" everyone keeps calling for. So, I tried to come up with a theory for it -

Extinction Rebellion, student strikes and the Green New Deal show that desperation is driving climate politics. Handled well, this could be a game changer.

If tonight marks the end of the @AnjaliApp campaign, I'd caution any New Democrat hyper-partisans from gloating about it. It should be deeply, deeply embarrassing to the NDP that Appadurai out-organized the entire caucus and cabinet, who'd endorsed Eby, in membership signups.

Quite an interesting health care policy announcement from @AnjaliApp today. Includes: - Immediate 25% raise for RNs to stabilize staffing. - Turning UPCCs into Community Health Centres with doctors, teams and better hours. - Free counselling services across BC

New analysis shows taxpayers will end up on the hook for the TMX boondoggle and @cafreeland and @FinanceCanada are still trying to mislead the public about it. A massive scandal is brewing here and the gov can't answer basic questions. via @NBulowski https://t.co/lY2c6lu34l

Finance Canada won’t confirm whether it will consider forgiving Trans Mountain’s massive public debts at the expense of taxpayers, despite ample indications that loan forgiveness is inevitable.

Puerto Rico. The Dominican. Bermuda. Atlantic Canada. Hurricane Fiona is another reminder that no one is safe from climate chaos. We can still avoid a future of ever-worsening storms, but we need to move past fossil fuels fast. Time to get loud about it. https://t.co/pWclOb61TT

We need a mass movement that can deal with climate disasters. That means training people to both protect and mobilize their communities.

This is a good look at the deep ties between the BC NDP and lobbyists for fracking, fish farming and logging corporations. Important context as the “our government is working for people” line is repeated constantly in this fall’s campaign. https://t.co/KZsMq17E5k #bcpoli @bcndp

The federal government’s decision to approve a $10-billion loan guarantee for Trans Mountain isn’t surprising, but @FinanceCanada's refusal to be transparent about TMX is a huge scandal. A🧵on @cafreeland’s claims, #TMX, and the “culture of secrecy” around it

In #ENVI today Finance Canada called the new #CCUS tax credit a fossil fuel subsidy Last week, @JonathanWNV said it's not a subsidy This is why Canada must start using international definitions. All money that goes to oil & gas companies IS a fossil fuel subsidy

So, who is going to pay to finish this wildly over-budget pipeline that insurers are running away from now that the feds are cutting off $$? And while you're at it, @JonathanWNV & @s_guilbeault, I'm still wondering how this is going to "pay for the transition"?

Big Oil has no intention of paying a dime of their own money for #CCUS - which they only care about as a a delay tactic for energy transition planning Cenovus tripled its dividend & quarterly revenue was $16 billion It's time to #MakePollutersPay & #StopFundingFossils
