From draft day in Erie to draft night in LA, Matthew Schaefer deserves everything that comes to him. An incredible player and a tremendous human being.
Matthew Schaefer kissed the breast cancer awareness patch on his jersey after getting drafted first overall. His mother, Jennifer, died of breast cancer in February 2024 after a two-year battle.

Saddened to learn this morning of the passing of Erie radio legend “Mojo” Michael Sroka. Mojo was such a unique character, as much off-air as on it. He loved to share the story of playing @cmcdavid97 in air hockey, or celebrating with the Otters for the ‘02 Cup. Rest easy Moj.

Tonight represented my 250th Ontario Hockey League broadcast. Four years of donning the headset as the Voice of the Otters has been a blessing. Every night we have the goal of creating the most unique & entertaining broadcast in hockey. Thankful for every call, game, & memory.
