The ban on paying for organ donors makes it harder for people to get organ transplants and keeps those in need of a kidney stuck on dialysis. Dialysis costs the government tens billions and is burdensome on patients. Compensating donors could save money and alleviate suffering.

In his new book, Oren Cass can’t decide if capital is fleeing or flooding America, but regardless of which problem he claims is plaguing America, his solution is trade barriers.

The Jones Act’s domestic building requirement splits the American merchant fleet in two. Dropping it would improve the American economy and end the arbitrary divide in our merchant fleet.

Adam Smith promoted free trade, but gave some exceptions to the principle of free trade. However, those exceptions have frequently been abused or taken out of context. In my most recent piece at @adamsmithworks, I highlight the warnings Adam Smith gave about his exceptions.

The US Court of Appeals is hearing the case against Trump’s tariffs. Hopefully we’ll be liberated from his “Liberation Day” tariffs.

A court ruling could soon strike down Trump’s tariffs as unconstitutional, restoring Congress’s power over taxation & trade. Good for the Constitution & economy — but it would blow a $2.8T hole in projected revenue. | @CalebDPetitt

Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs could be in trouble. The appealed case against the tariffs will be heard tomorrow, and could rule them as unconstitutional. I recently summarized four amicus briefs filed for this case arguing the tariffs are unconstitutional.

The senior director of the Office of Maritime and Industrial Capacity (OMIC), along with a number of staffers, have recently left the OMIC. This could signal the weakening of the Trump administration's push for maritime industrial policy, which would be good for America.
