Visiting the iconic Highgate Cemetery today where so many writers and artists are buried. The offerings at the grave of the legendary Douglas Adams made me really quite emotional!

Our summer term Key Stage 3 reading challenges have now finished! Congratulations to the winning forms from each year group - 7/JSM, 8/SMR and 9/SGS/JNS. Also congratulations to 7/JPW whose book-o-meter won the "most beautifully decorated" award!

A fantastic day out at #Spellbinding2024 meeting authors and lots of readers from other Cumbrian schools. A well-deserved win for Josh Silver from a very strong shortlist! Thank you so much @CumbriaSLS, can't wait for next year!

Brilliant conference, and wonderful keynote from @julianaurelius . I met so many wonderful colleagues and authors, and have come back to school full of ideas. If you look closely at the photo, you can see me on the front right table!
It was an absolute joy and privilege to step in last minute to do keynote at @uksla conference in Sheffield. One of the warmest audiences I have ever addressed - huge respect for all your work as librarians :-) @guppybooks

🎇🎇Congratulations to Ava and Hannah in Y11 who are the FIRST EVER pupil librarians at Caldew School to earn the Platinum SLA Pupil Librarian Award! I couldn't give them a real firework display, so we had one on the projector instead! Thanks both for all of your hard work! 🎇🎇

Fantastic World Book Day in school today. Wonderful 6th form costume competition for Read for Good. Winners of the "When I was 12..." staff favourite book spotting, and of the form quiz will be announced on Monday. Thanks to pupil librarians Hannah & Ava for planning the quiz!
