Thanks to Niall Hammond who shot this amazing drone footage of 5526 hauling 'The Polar Express' today. The train has just emerged from Church Bridge at Cholsey and is heading down 'sewer straight' with Cholsey Church and Manor Farm in the background, heading towards Wallingford.

Wow, what a great job @GrundonRecycle have done repainting the Esso tanker. What can we say other thank you! The wagon should be back at the railway soon.

Our friends at @GrundonRecycle are giving our 'Esso' tanker wagon some much needed TLC. It should be back on the rails in 2-3 weeks in a shiny new livery!

Point sleeper changing at Cholsey today as a Didcot bound 387 passes on the down relief. We're always looking for more help maintaining our permanent way - get in touch if a day out in the South Oxfordshire countryside with good company (and sometimes cake) appeals!

In addition to our 'Firework Flyer' services today, there is a very special train passing through Cholsey at 1550. 'Clun Castle' is hauling a train out of Paddington for the first time in 60 years, to mark the anniversary of the 'Farewell to Steam Special' she hauled in 1965.

Don't forget we're running 'The Fireworks Flyer' later today from 2-10pm. A great way to get to Wallingford's Firework display without the hassle of parking. And because it is @railway200 a return is just 200 pence! https://t.co/4nWu0epuwV

Work on our second brake coach is progressing well, with most of the end panels at one end welded into place and doors re-hung. Inside woodwork has been sanded and varnish is being applied and the floor of the Guards compartment is getting further coats of paint.
