This morning was our invitation only breakfast for those who have been nominated by staff for being excellent. This morning celebrated those nominated in September, October and November. There were a number of pastries and the popular warm chocolate pancakes! @ChelmerValleyHS

We put together a Year 12 team for the Bar Mock Trial competition this year with Young Citizens and had a great time looking at the cases, discussing laws and then eventually attending Ipswich Crown Court this weekend to advocate for defendants and prosecution. @ChelmerValleyHS

On November 29th we ran our Drive Safe Day for Year 12 and 13 students. This consisted of the Fire Brigade, Essex Safer Roads, Supreme Motor School and Roadster engaging the students delivering speeches and workshops to support students to be safe on the roads. @ChelmerValleyHS

We provided all students in the Sixth Form the opportunity to attend our Careers Fair within the school at the end of November. With a number of university and apprenticeship stands, students were able to gain further information on their post 18 options. @ChelmerValleyHS

In November we took all students to Chelmsford Racecourse to the UK University and Apprenticeship Fair. Students attended lectures on student finance, apprenticeships and how to write personal statements and gained plenty of information on post 18 opportunities. @ChelmerValleyHS

In November students across Year 12 & 13 took part in an Advertising Unlocked day where they visited Weber Shandwick in London and learnt about the opportunities and work the firm do. The students had camera and photographic experiences of the corporate world. @ChelmerValleyHS

We have been busy with a variety of events and providing students opportunities that we have not had time to update our socials! In October we held our annual pumpkin competition and the students across Year 12 and 13 once again proved superb carving skills! @ChelmerValleyHS

WOW! What an amazing Sixth Form Open Evening we had! Every department ran an exciting stall engaging all students and we had conversations and canapes in the Common Room with the alumni. Our Sixth Formers did us proud as well. @ChelmerValleyHS

We had a busy week last week promoting the Sixth Form at Braintree Careers Fair at Chelmsford Race Course! We would encourage as many Year 11 students as possible to come to our Open Evening on Thursday 10th October from 5.30pm - 7.30pm! @ChelmerValleyHS

In September Year 13 Media Students went to the Guardian Newspaper offices in central London to complete a workshop on how to edit for the news. It was brilliant with all students working with the wires (the incoming news) to edit and create their own newspaper. @ChelmerValleyHS

Year 12 and 13 students met on the field and completed a information collection exercise where students asked Year 13 to inform them of key elements within the subjects they have chosen. It was a great opportunity for students to get to know each other. @ChelmerValleyHS

What a start to the term we had! It's been so busy It's been hard to keep on top of our socials! Year 12 started and had two Bridge the Gap Bootcamp days participating in taskmaster activites, learning how to be a great SixthFormer and Oracy & Literacy lessons. @ChelmerValleyHS

On Friday 15th September our BTEC Performing Arts students had a virtual lesson with a current performer in the West End - Jodie. She gave them superb hints and tips about auditions and post 18 considerations. Thank you Jodie!

A lovely way to start the Year 12 enrichment offering - this week we had Zen Time (colours and chill music) Mafia (a role play card game) Badminton, The Fitness Suite was open and Football. Well Done Year 12...look out for the next Google Sign up form @ChelmerValleyHS
