This policy reveals something more subtle about the DEI era. These overbearing, often clever policies have not just sanctioned a legally tenuous obsession with race. They also confer power.

How did Cornell come to secretly exclude 98% of qualified candidates for a faculty job based on race and sex? Sadder still: the eventual hire, a respected scholar, becomes a victim too—forever branded a “second-choice diversity pick.” No one deserves that. Wrong move, Cornell.
According to a whistleblower, Cornell University DEI administrators rigged the search process for a professor of evolutionary biology by deliberately excluding white men from consideration and hand-picking their "hoped-for diversity hire.". This is racial discrimination.

Cornell administrators were actually writing down their plans to racially discriminate and putting "diversity hire" in the subject line of their emails. Imagine being the person who ended up with the job—you show up to the office and everyone knows you're a "diversity hire."

Cornell University organized a hiring process that "pre-screen[ed]" candidates on the basis on DEI statements, listed "DEI" at the top of its "evaluation criteria," and deliberately excluded better-qualified applicants "partly for reasons of equity." This is academic corruption.
