Luis Diaz wasn’t a particularly good footballer. He was a roadrunner with extremely poor end product and he’d often just go missing for 10 games at a time. Blaming the capitulation of this team on Diaz leaving is such a lazy take. If we miss anyone it’s the rat unfortunately.
Selling Luis Diaz was, let’s admit now, a terrible decision. He should’ve been given the not-outrageous pay rise he deserved. His dream was not to play in Germany. He would’ve happily stayed.
