1/650 Excelsior modification number 3 This is my first non-canon modification. I resin printed 1/350 scale Enterprise Refit docking ports at 60% scale (thanks to the help of a friend) and installed them on a symmetrical location on each side of the hull #startrek #scalemodel

1/650 Excelsior modification number 2 The original filming model has detailing on the inside walls of these in-sets. It's possible this is from leftover photoetch when ILM did the Death Star 2 model. 1/700 scale photoetch ladders have been installed to recreate these details.

1/650 Excelsior Replacing sanded details with styrene cut on a vinyl cutter. Shapes were drawn in Illustrator and sent to the cutter. The shapes were scored only to preserve the blade, styrene snaps cleanly. #startrek #modelmaking #scalemodel #excelsior #scifi

Next project underway. 1/650 scale Excelsior class model from Helios Models and Lighting. This is a commissioned build and will be built with a custom brass frame, scratchbuilt details, full lighting, and an ILM recreated masking set from a friend of mine. #startrek #scalemodel
