April is Bowel Cancer Awareness month in the UK. Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and the second biggest cancer killer (Bowel Cancer UK, July 2023). The FIT test is used as a bowel cancer screening method and is now available at CST for all individuals.

The Cancer Screening Trust are offering a Comprehensive Hereditary Cancer Panel that includes 31 genes associated with the most common hereditary cancers. It is used to identify individuals at a higher-than population risk for hereditary cancer from a simple saliva sample.

We advise clients to have the blood test annually and the MRI scan every 3 years. You are under no obligation to repeat the process but we keep in regular contact with clients both to remind them of their renewal dates and to help them with their health goals.
