A2. Ss can be leaders in the classroom and help explore each other’s interests. As Ts we need to work together to help reinforce learning across curricula and we need to involve people at the next level (trades, post-sec, etc) to guide and help with next challenges #teachpos.
Here is question two for #teachpos . We can’t do everything alone. Sharing ideas and knowledge is key.

A1. What if experts drive big picture content goals, Ts develop scaffolding, and Ss determine paths that those goals through their interests and curiosity? Maybe the only role govt should have is establishing a non-partisan org that protects those roles #teachpos.
Here is question one for #teachpos. I think we all should contribute to what’s taught. But the main drivers should be teachers and administrators. They are in the front lines. Obviously parents matter, but they are generally not the experts. The govt should not be involved.

BQ It needs to be for teachers and by teachers to be most successful. Ideally, district/divisional leaders are successful teachers and cycle in and out of those positions so they can better understand how to support Ts based on their own classroom experiences #teachpos.

A3 Something that challenges me to find something better, but also feels like I can put it into use right away. I find that I often learn so much from other Ts in other provinces/countries. Those convos often have the biggest impact on my practice #teachpos.
Here we go with question three. 1. Use right away .2. Tech .3. Scalable .4. Student centered. #teachpos

A1 Ts getting something of value that they take back to their Ss and gives their Ss a better experience. It helps if it comes from someone that’s in the classroom and still knows the challenges that Ts face every day. Too often it comes from a source too far removed #teachpos.
Here we go with question one for #teachpos. Something where people leave with ideas that are new, valuable and shareable.

Hi! Chris, physics teacher, from Manitoba. Professional learning should be about teacher growth so we can be better for our Ss. Ts should be encouraged to take risks and find the support we need to push our profession and give Ss our best.#teachpos.
Welcome to #teachpos - thx for joining our chat. Please tell us your name - title and tag a few friends to join. Feel free to answer the question below as well. 1. Fun.2. Rewarding .3. Valuable .4. Cooperative .5. Engaging

Had a great evening at @BrandonUni speaking with teacher candidates about #ungrading. Amazing insights and questions from a group fresh off their 5-week practicum. Hopefully these conversations lead to systemic change that can benefit all students.

BQ. It’s important to learn to work with everyone, you can learn lots especially when the viewpoints are different. Empathy is one of the most important skills that we need to develop in life, the world would be better with a bit more of it. #teachpos.
Here is our bonus question. Awesome chat tonight. So many great comments. If there is a topic you’d like to cover, please let me know. #Teachpos

A3. Sometimes I see the misconception that if these skills aren’t already there, they never will be. Some feel so tied to content that they don’t have time to address these skills. I found that it’s worth every second as the classroom becomes far stronger and healthier #teachpos.
Here we go with Q3. I think schools believe that many of these skills are learned and don’t need to necessarily mastered. Wrong!!!. #teachpos
