I genuinely feel his parents and that generation of parents are to blame for this discourse. My childhood was so black. I knew black music, my home was decorated with black art, I went to the movies to see black movies. Boomers made sure their kids knew their black culture.

What we have learned is white people will cut off their own foot if it will keep Black people from walking. Can't even imagine the inventions and life saving remedies humanity were denied because of racism.
Garrett Morgan, aka the Black Edison, faced such severe racism he hired a white actor to pose as an inventor while he disguised himself as an assistant to demonstrate his lifesaving hooded air filter to white firefighters in smoke-filled rooms.
