Tyler Hadsell (group of Dr. Ojeda-Aristizabal) presented his thesis work on analyzing photoemission data to look for the Lifshitz transition in Dirac semi-metals. An intriguing study of applying mathematical concepts to experimental data. Congrats to Tyler on his novel work!

Adam Bowen's thesis work presented novel methods using a recently acquired photolithography machine to fabricate micropillar Josephson junctions (useful in creating qubits for quantum computers). Congrats to Adam and his advisor Dr. Jiyeong Gu for this outstanding work!

A thesis defense is the culmination of much hard work and scientific inquiry en route to the Physics MS degree. Erin Henkhaus presented a very well attended talk on "Modified Surface Structure in Copper Phthalocyanine Thin Films via Bithermal Deposition" (advisor Dr. Gredig)

Last Friday, the department celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the American Physical Society (APS) Bridge Program at CSULB, with support from Google, LLC. Wonderful to see our alumni succeeding in their chosen careers! Thanks to all who made the program what it is today!

To knot or not to knot. That is the true question. Is attending the Physics Global Summit knot nuts? Knot at all my friend… fascinating!
