“The best ability is availability” To make exo assistance available to more workers, we integrated exo capabilities into a standard uniform. Proud of this team effort with the US Army to make solve problems meaningful to Soldiers. Details in 🧵from @KarlZelik
🚨 New Vanderbilt University publication showing it's feasible to integrate back-support exosuit capabilities directly into everyday work uniforms. 🔥 Excited about the potential for this innovation to make exos, and back relief, accessible to even more workers in the future

Yesterday, I was surprised (& thankful) to receive a University recognition for undergrad research mentoring. I'm grateful to our extraordinary lab members (grad & undergrad students, postdocs & staff) who make the lab a welcoming, supportive & collaborative environment for all.
Karl Zelik, a Vanderbilt University Mechanical Engineering professor and the director of CREATE, was recognized for his student research mentoring earlier today. See him surrounded by 5 ME professor colleagues this afternoon and watch for more news!

Technology from @CREATEatVandy, @VandyMechE and professor @KarlZelik is at the heart of this new standard. #mechanicalengineering #exoskeletons
New standard from ASTM’s Exo Technology Center of Excellence’s Research to Standards efforts will help evaluate effect of #exoskeletons on fall risk due to stumbling. Can be used for #occupational, #medical, #military, or recreational exoskeletons. https://t.co/rxqi3Lm8fm

We had a phenomenally fun morning yesterday welcoming students from Hillsboro HS into our lab! Students were able to try on exoskeletons and prosthetic devices and experiment with EMG, sports tech, GRF, and more! We are so exacted to have in person outreach events back in action!
