At the Archbishop Hoban Hoopfest, 6-0 Padua Franciscan beat Prep 57-40. Natalie Spano and Mia Washburn led the Ramblers with 9 points apiece. The Prep JV’s won 52-10 over Padua. Nora Marsh had 14 points for the Ramblers and Awut Mangok had 10.

Prep beats North East 106-72. Nando Mirarchi had 37 points. Michael Thompson had 23 while Ahmari Horton added 20. The Ramblers set a school record for points in a game, surpassing the previous mark of 102. The team heads to Buffalo St. Joe’s on Monday.

Prep 60, Corry 23 in basketball. Natalie Spano hit six 3-pointers and scored 26 points. Grace Orlando had 12 points, all on threes while Leah Nies had 9 points. The JV’s won 52-14. Bella Scheloske had 12 points, Anna Johnson scored 10 and Nora Marsh finished with 9.

The boys won 108-35. Jackman Callaway took home four events. Andrew Dutchcot, Thomas Fortin, Lochlan Snider-Mills, William Grimshawe, Jax Calhoun and William Speros all won twice.

Cathedral Prep opened Region swimming with a 102-38 win over Erie High on the girls side. Jaslene Cage won four events. Triple winners included Aubrey Bender, Kendal Johnston and Brianne Ryan while Kara Sanders and Haylie Montgomery each won twice.

Mrs. Quinn’s AP Calculus and AP Statistics students had the opportunity to hear from David Tullio ’17, who now works in sales at Custom Engineering. He shared examples of how calculus and statistics play a vital role in manufacturing, from analyzing data to optimizing processes.

Prep won on the mat, 51-17 vs. Girard. Pins came from Jourian Crockett, Kam Borrero, Mario Panighetti, Sam Harrington, Bode Terry and Max Spaulding.

A few postponements for road trips today: The girls basketball doubleheader at Frewsburg will now be played on Saturday, February 7 at 11am & 12:30pm. The freshman basketball game at Oil City will now be played tomorrow at 4pm.

The Rambler JV’s started the sweep at Fairview with a 61-35 win. Ben Dougherty paced Prep with 18. Demario Smith had 12 while Matt Nedreski and Jayson Feliciano each had 8 points.

In Prep’s 79-65 win over the Tigers, Nando Mirarchi netted 30 points. Ahmari Horton chipped in with 16 while Michael Thompson had 10.

Ramblers move to 4-0 with a 79-65 victory at Fairview. Next up is a home game vs. North East on Friday.
