NEWS: An ICE operation turned deadly in Chicago today, after a suspect resisted arrest and tried to drive his vehicle into agents, prompting an officer to shoot the suspect, who has been pronounced dead, a DHS official tells me. The officer suffered severe injuries but is stable.

The incident concluded at approximately 10:40 a.m. without further incident and access to the business was restored. During the response, our officers worked to enforce the law while also ensuring those lawfully exercising their First Amendment rights could do so safely.

At approximately 10 a.m., the affected business signed a complaint. The Chicago Police SWAT cut team also responded to the area to disassemble the sleeping dragon devices. After the devices were disassembled, a total of 12 individuals were taken into custody.

Chicago Police officers issued multiple dispersal orders in the area, giving individuals illegally blocking the business the opportunity to disperse without enforcement action. Dispersal orders were issued at approximately 8:39 a.m., 8:50 a.m., 8:53 a.m. and 9:04 a.m.
