Jacksonville Traffic Alert:
Due to power outages, the railroad crossing on Highway 24 near Piney Green Road is stuck in the down position. Public Safety personnel are responding to reopen the roadway. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area or find an alternate route.

UPDATE 4PM City of Jacksonville - A water main failure is under repair in Northwoods, crews have are working to restore service and estimate restored service this evening. This water main at Decatur and Maple serves a good portion of the neighborhood.

Students from Northwoods Park Middle met with survivors from the Beirut bombing this morning to tie yellow ribbons and learn the history behind the Beirut Memorial in Jacksonville. The city will officially commemorate the 40th anniversary of the bombing on Monday, October 23.
