Wilma Webb was a Colorado legislator and civil rights advocate who led the fight to make Martin Luther King Jr. Day a state holiday. As Denver's First Lady, she championed diversity in many areas. She has left a lasting impact on Colorado's history. #ColoradoTrailblazer #BHM

Raised in Denver, Colorado; Hattie McDaniel was the first Black person to win an Academy Award. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's hall of fame. Despite her success, she faced segregation in Hollywood but paved the way for future Black actors. #BlackExcellence #BlackWomen

Dr. Justina Ford broke barriers as Colorado’s first Black female physician, dedicating her life to providing healthcare to those overlooked by the system. Denied hospital privileges due to segregation, she treated patients from her home in Five Points. #BlackHistoryMonth
