June 11, 1999: Cartoon Cartoon Fridays premieres for the first time! The block would have a lot of changes over the years, including the introduction of CN characters as hosts.

As we’re now at the end of June, and this month marked 30 years since the first June Bugs marathon, it would be a great idea to look back on all the past marathons. Starting from the first one in 1993, all the way to the last one in 2013. So let’s begin, shall we?

May 6, 2000: Cartoon Network, in association with the Acme corporation, presented the Acme Day marathon. 12 hours of nothing but classic cartoons! Featuring Tom & Jerry, Popeye, and of course, Looney Tunes!
Happy 26th anniversary to the first Cartoon Cartoon, Dexter's Laboratory! The (first) acclaimed cartoon by Genndy Tartakovsky officially premiered on this day in 1996!

April 23, 2013: Titans, go! Teen Titans Go! premiered 9 years ago on this day at 7:30pm. Despite highly mixed reactions, it would go on to amass 8 seasons, three movies, and over 350 episodes, not to mention constant marathons on the schedule.

Fun toon fact! Did you know that TTG is the last CN series to premiere with the original CHECK it branding from 2010? Things like the HD suffix, the dedicated SD feed, the stylized NEW banners and the tiled Next bumpers would be phased out less than a month after Go! premiered.
April 1, 2017: You won’t believe your eyes when Cartoon Network does it's most ambitious stunt yet and slaps googly eyes over your favorite shows! They were so in their game that even channel promos got googly-eyed as well!

September 26, 2011: A date that would revolutionize Cartoon Network as we know it. Cartoons would never be the same after a certain episode premiered today. We are of course talking about the official series premiere of Secret Mountain Fort Awesome.
And that is not even mentioning the constant domination on the CN schedule, from the New Titans Thursdays block in 2015, several week-long events, and tons of marathons, with the most notable of which being the 2017 Christmas Eve-to-New Year "Every Titans Ever" marathon.

Toon Fact! During the premiere of the Adventure Time episode "Rainy Day Daydream", CN chose to air a commercial break *during* the episode, not after like usual. Rumor has it this was to give Regular Show a ratings boost. This would even carry over into next week's premiere!

April 1, 2018: Have some R-E-S-P-C-K-T when Richard Watterson doubles as the Easter bunny and the April Fools prank on Cartoon Network this year! During programming, specialized animations featured him dancing, running and prancing around like you’d expect Richard to do.

April 1, 2009: Expecting a Chowder marathon? Cartoon Network says otherwise. From 6AM to 5PM an unannounced Cow and Chicken marathon airs today in its place!
April 1, 2003: The absolute geniuses at Cartoon Network invited an actual chimpanzee (technically an ape) named Jimbo to select various monkey-themed cartoons from Cartoon Network's programming library which would air as part of the schedule!
Toon fact! While Dexter DID officially debut on this date, segments of the show (NOT the 1995 pilots) aired as part of World Premiere Toons throughout the months of March & April 1996. These include The Big Sister, Dimwit Dexter, Old Man Dexter and the first three Dial M shorts.
April 1, 1998: Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!!! The ghost with the most makes his grand debut on Cartoon Network with an all-day marathon of the 1989 cartoon, with a brand new Dexter's Lab following the marathon!

January 28, 2017: After over 15 years of reruns and premieres, the Pokémon anime would air its last episode on Cartoon Network five years ago today, immediately followed by a new Justice League Action!
April 1, 2001: Seems appropriate to give the king of screwball cartoons his own marathon on the day of fools! From 6am to midnight, Cartoon Network aired Tex Avery's Marathon of Fools, a 18 hour marathon of nothing but Tex Avery directed cartoons from both Warner Bros. and MGM!
April 1, 2007: Why be normal when you can be act like a fool? The Act A Fool-a-Thon aired 16 nonstop hours of tomfoolery from shows like Fosters, My Gym Partner, Class of 3000, Squirrel Boy and other CN Studios productions!

The fifth June Bugs was certainly the big one. Not only was this the first one to last a good 48 hours, but the marathon also included 41 new to the network shorts, including "A-Lad-in His Lamp", "Beanstalk Bunny" and "Wild and Woolly Hare", just to name a few.
April 1, 2006: No fooling this year, since the network premiere of Studio Ghibli’s 1986 masterpiece “Castle in the Sky” premiered today at 7:30pm on Toonami, as part of their Month of Miyazaki! (credit to SlimD716 for remastered promo images)
April 1, 2012: Screwy Squirrel returns to Cartoon Network! His short, the 1944 classic "Screwball Squirrel", plays twice in the morning, at 6am and 11:45am!

Considering that the package of shorts CN had access to at the time (that being the pre-48 package), there was only 58 Bugs Bunny shorts they were able to air, not an substantial amount to make a full 48 hour marathon out of.
1993-1995
The first three June Bugs marathons were not in the weekend long 48 hour format we know them to be, they actually started off as a 25 hour marathon lasting between Saturday 8:00pm to Sunday 9:00pm.
