The play started as most championship games do, a few early scores coming from both sides; but as the match progressed, Emmets that became the dominant and led at the break by 1-11 to 0-04. Toome got the opening two points, by the final whistle the Emmets 3-23; Toome on 0-06.

The Emmet club regret to record the death of Michael Finnegan Cloughvalley. He will repose at Lonergan Funeral Home today from 3pm until 8pm. Funeral mass is at 11am tomorrow. Members of the Emmet club are asked to be at St Joseph's Church before 10-45 am for a Guard of Honour.
