HOMICIDE STABBING: 1500 Bl. of 19th St. S.E. Around 11:56 p.m. last night. MPD responded for an individual down and unresponsive. That individual was found to have multiple puncture wounds and was pronounced dead on scene. Identified as 59 year old Raymond Johnson.

How does it make us safer? I thought sentences were to be punishment or deterrence. How does reducing either result in better outcomes i.e. criminals become solid citizens? I don't think that equity is the same as equality. Do you really think Congress is going to permit this?
