Historic first in Mthatha! 🌍 The first citizen-led National Dialogue brought gov’t, traditional leaders & communities together to reimagine OR Tambo as a thriving agricultural hub. Grateful to @ThaboMbekiFDN, @ECogta & the @NLinSouthAfrica for their support.

This study challenges simplistic views of ‘the local’ and highlights how local and digital elements are interconnected in peacebuilding. Digital peacebuilding is not just an outside, modern influence on local contexts; rather, the digital and the local shape each other. 2/3

The CMA is excited to have been working with @ilo Kenya to facilitate dialogue between refugee org. & employer org. on refugee integration. As this ILO brief describes, conflict driver & stakeholder mapping are powerful tools to facilitate such dialogue

The National Dialogue cannot be a citizens dialogue or a government dialogue. It needs to be a citizen-oriented dialogue between the government and citizens.

The main takeaways from Prof Cori Wielenga centred around the fact that there is a clear breakdown of trust between the government and its citizens in South Africa, that need to be addressed, and perhaps this needs to be the first priority of the #NationalDialogueSA.
