The @EU_Commission's just published its #MFF & #CAP proposals, which are key to improving the lives of blns of farmed animals in 🇪🇺 & fixing our broken food system. A strong #CAP budget must help farmers adopt regenerative practices that are good for animals & our planet.

In its work to finally modernise the EU's animal welfare rules, the @EU_Commission launched a call for evidence – and we have responded. Business as usual is not an option. The Commission must align legislation to the latest scientific evidence & finally #EndTheCageAge.

Tomorrow the @EU_Commission can help fix our broken agrifood system. Business as usual isn't an option. The next CAP must fund the transition away from factory farming & towards regenerative practices that benefit animals, people & the planet.

Human, animal & planetary health are deeply intertwined. Factory farming & routine antimicrobial use put us all at risk. A strong advocate for the One Health approach, we wish Dr Nikolaus Kriz all the best in his new role as @EFSA_EU's new executive director!

Our message to the ministers convening for the 1st AGRIFISH Council under the @eu2025dk presidency: prioritise food for people over feed for animals. A common EU action plan for plant-based foods is a win for.🐔animals.👩🌾people.🌍our planet.🍚food security.🪙 competitiveness

Commissioner @CHansenEU is about to speak at the @Europarl_EN on the future CAP. Our call is clear: the next CAP must fulfil citizens’ demands for higher animal welfare & support for farmers to transition to an agrifood system that is healthy, fair & environmentally friendly.

When Animal Welfare Commissioner @OliverVarhelyi announced that the enforcement of animal welfare rules would be one of his top priorities, we were thrilled. Yet, despite a 30-year-old ban on tail-docking in pigs, most of them still get their tails routinely sliced off.

As the @EU_Commission shares the EU’s 2040 emission targets, our message couldn’t be clearer: the agrifood system must play its part in tackling the climate crisis.

In the last two weeks, 58,0000 supporters have emailed Stena Line calling for it to end this cruel trade. Every farmed animal exported for fattening or slaughter is one too many, so we urge it to end all live exports now rather than in September. #BanLiveExports.

Good news! Stena Line has just announced that it will end its Rosslare to Cherbourg ferry route which means it will no longer transport unweaned calves on that 18-hour journey. #BanLiveExports.
