Another school year begins, and the hallways will soon be filled with laughter, stress, friendships, and challenges. Let’s be the ones who lift instead of tear down. Stop judging, stop ridiculing, stop excluding. ❤️ Choose compassion. Choose kindness. Choose Christ

President Nelson’s promise is real: “Seminary can change the course of your life—it really can.”.For my mom, it wasn’t just early mornings and good friends—it was the spark that led her to discover her faith. And because her life changed, so did mine.

Nephi saw our day—and so does our prophet. The power of the Lamb is descending now upon the faithful. Are you ready for what’s coming?

Before most HS students wake up, our little seminary ohana gathers on this island to study the scriptures, grow in faith, and occasionally get sand in our scripture journals. Shoutout to @yagijay_ for the sticker design—it’s already showing up around island!

First Toshi Station… now Zion?!.Following the Prophet isn’t always convenient — but it’s always worth it. When God calls, you don’t wait for ‘next season.’ You pack the wagon and go. “It is expedient in me that they should assemble together at the Ohio” .D&C 37:3

The restored gospel of Jesus Christ isn’t a remix or a tribute band. It’s not a cover. It’s a comeback.

Weezer covered Africa and Enter Sandman—two totally different songs, and the crowd went wild. But no one thought they were Toto or Metallica. They weren’t trying to be. They were honoring something powerful that came before. And that got me thinking ….

I was telling my seminary class that I’m always on the lookout for object lessons—and that inspiration can come from anywhere. They threw down the challenge flag and mentioned a Weezer concert some of them had just been to. Challenge accepted. 🎸

When House of Pain tried to out-psalm the Bible…. I’m just a simple seminary teacher, setting the record straight—one dope rhyme at a time. Who should I challenge next?? Which Hip Hop Heresy needs further scrutiny?

The act of communion with our Father is an intimately personal one, and finding that sacred space is key. It doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be yours. Revelation will come! //.

Find your own sacred place to connect with God! No need to join the Cult of Kitchen Appliances (unless you’ve got a special bond with the blender). 6/.

Sacred spaces are important. Joseph Smith found a grove of trees where he could pour out his heart. Moses prayed on a mountain. Jesus left the crowds and prayed in a garden. And me? I prayed in front of a Venezuelan fridge. It wasn’t conventional, but it worked! 5/.

I’d open the fridge and say my evening prayers! . Imagine the rumors if someone had walked by: “Are they out of food? Is this the latest form of worship? A cult of kitchen appliances? What's next—praying to the toaster?” 4/.

We lived in a casita and shared one fan between us. As the senior comp, I let my comp have the fan, because I am noble like that. But praying at night was brutal—humidity and sweat made it nearly impossible to focus. My 20-year-old solution? Genius, or so I thought: 3/.

Yet another missionary story (YAMS ALERT!). As a missionary in Venezuela, I served in a tiny city right on the banks of the Orinoco River (I’d hum “Sail away” by Enya most mornings). It was on the edge of the Amazon, and had two seasons: Hot. And REALLY HOT + constant rain. 2/.
