We received numerous calls today asking why we didn’t just arrest protesters as soon as we arrived. The photos below along with video on our other social media channels show what officers had to work through before making arrests.
Tactics utilized by unlawful protesters this morning on I-880 and the Golden Gate Bridge. This is unlawful and will not be tolerated. Arrests were made and the CHP is recommending charges. Thank you to our law enforcement partners for their assistance.

We are seeing a rise in motorists traveling at excessive speeds in the

. We are still out in force and will continue to issue citations. There is no faster way to get a suspended license than driving 100mph+!
In the six weeks the CHP has been working in the Tenderloin, our officers have recovered 41 stolen vehicles. The collaboration between CHP and the SFPD continues to take dangerous drugs off the streets and return stolen property to its rightful owners.

California Highway Patrol personnel from around the San Francisco Bay Area honored the superlative career of Assistant Chief B.J. Whitten. After 31 years of dedicated and exemplary service to the State of California, Chief Whitten has retired.
In an effort to help well wishers steer clear of fraudulent donation sites and the grieving family avoid excessive administrative fees, the CAHP Credit Union will be setting up a benevolence fund for Officer Camilleri’s family.

Marin County Sheriff's Deputy, Ryan Zirkle, was killed responding to a 9-1-1 call on March 14th. Deputy Zirkle leaves behind his fiancée. The couple had just bought a home together in Petaluma.
