I'm so happy to announce I've been named to the Wish Upon A Wedding Board of Directors (a volunteer position). Jason and I were wish recipients with WUW in December 2024. We were gifted an incredible 25th-anniversary vow renewal, and it was the most special day of our lives.

I’m writing this memoir draft by hand, & I just used up pen #2! (Also hit ~50k words, but the pen running dry is by far the more fun milestone.) I’m hitting difficult scenes more often as the story progresses. The writing is sometimes hard … and always worth it.

“No response necessary” gives me the freedom to reply with words, not reply at all, or, like I did tonight, give the message a simple ❤️ reaction. It’s a generous way to reach out, because the words are a true gift with nothing expected in return. 3/3

Sometimes I want to respond when people reach out. And some days, like today, those texts arrive at a time when I’m emotionally and physically spent, and I don’t have it in me to have a conversation. 2/

Oh, don’t mind me, just sitting in a coffee shop getting choked up as I write the scene in my memoir when we found out that Wish Upon A Wedding was granting our vow-renewal wish. Joy & grief are both so powerful, and they can absolutely coexist in the same spot at the same time.

Memoir-writing updates: *A few weeks ago, I ran out of ink on the pen I was using to write my memoir. That was actually a really fun milestone, one unique to writing by hand. I've used quite a bit of ink from my second pen now too! 1/

The gap he’s left in time just gets bigger. I can’t believe I’ve already lived a quarter of a year without him—the man I lived a quarter of a century with. I really am doing well. I’m grieving, and I’m also experiencing so much joy. I love my life, & I miss my best friend. 2/2
