In 2021 35,406 youth reached out to the National Runaway Safeline, about 10% of those were California youth. #NRPM2022

Data is a key tool used to support youth experiencing homelessness (YEH) even when significant data discrepancies are known. The # of YEH in CA range from 29k to over 275k, and when compared to housing there is only 1 bed available for every 7 YEH. #NRPM2022

On day two of education week, we want to shine a light on Black or African American, Latinx or Hispanic, or Multi-racial and Latino contacts that reached out to NRS. Contacts that identified as Black or African American increased 47% between 2019 and 2021.
